The Danish company specialized in professional service robots, Blue Ocean Robotics, and its subsidiary UVD Robots have been nominated for the SDG Tech Award and for the People’s Choice Award, for their UV disinfection robots. The organization Sustainary is behind the selection of Denmark's most sustainable solutions. The purpose is to create awareness of the solutions.
More than 60 countries in the world now use the Danish developed robot technology to ensure a clean environment in hospitals, airports and many other areas in the public space. UVD Robots thus contributes to greater safety and security for humans. During the covid-19 pandemic, the autonomous mobile UV robot has played an important role in preventing bacteria and viruses from spreading and infecting people.
“The COVID-19 crisis will result in natural economic decline in Denmark and worldwide. Sustainability is a way forward in our efforts to restore growth and it must be the focal point of creating new growth based on sustainability. That is why we, as a community will join together now with each of our activities and send a clear signal separately, but as a whole: The road ahead can only be green,” says Sophia Christou, project manager in the organization Sustainary.
The organization has reviewed 200 proposals about Danish technologies that promote sustainable development and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Everyone can vote for their favorite among the nominees until 21st of September. Voting is available via this link: https://rocketjudge.com/register/pGsx6uqc.
The 5 of the nominated Danish inventions that get the most votes are honored during Green Impact Alliance which coordinates Green Impact Week with activities around Denmark that focus on sustainable development.
