There was a statuette and acknowledgement to the winner Blue Ocean Robotics and its subsidiary UVD Robots when the group’s CEO, Claus Risager, received the award for Denmark’s most sustainable solution in the health category at the SDG Tech Awards in Copenhagen, Thursday, 22th of October.
”We are very proud to be able to contribute to higher safety and more sustainable development in the world with our disinfection robots, which are developed by combining the newest mobile robot and sensor technologies with the latest research on infections and microbiology. We look at this award as an impressive acknowledgment of our vision to create robots for humans,” says Claus Risager, CEO at Blue Ocean Robotics. The company won the award together with its subsidiary, UVD Robots. Blue Ocean Robotics has developed a number of solutions that address some of the biggest challenges in the world, in its other subsidiaries, among these the telepresence robot from GoBe Robots and the patient transfer and rehabilitation robot from PTR Robots.
The organization Sustainary is behind the award of Denmark's most sustainable solutions. The winner was revealed at a ceremony on Thursday. The purpose of the award is to create awareness of the most sustainable solutions in Denmark and spread that globally. The organization has gone through 200 nominees of Danish technologies that promote sustainable development and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. This happens as a part of the EU commission's Green Impact Week that takes place next week.
“We are so happy to have Blue Ocean Robotics with UVD Robots as the winners of the "Health" award. Their autonomous disinfection robot is extremely relevant in today's climate with Covid-19, and their high score from our diverse panel of international judges was a clear win," says Sophia Christou, project manager in the organization Sustainary.
Blue Ocean Robotics’ and UVD Robots’ solution is the world's most advanced disinfection robot that can move around autonomously and disinfect at hospitals, airports, hotels, shopping malls, food companies, cleaning industries, cruise ships, pharmaceutical companies, office complexes and many other places to ensure infection-free environments. The Danish solution is present in more than 60 countries and it has been developed in a collaboration between Blue Ocean Robotics and a group of scientists and experts at Odense Universitetshospital throughout the last 6 years. UVD Robots contribute to higher safety for people. During the Covid-19 pandemic the autonomous disinfection robot with UV-light has truly proven its worth as a weapon against infections and viruses.
