3C GROUPS, owned by businessman Niels Thorborg, has created a new and strong financial foundation for Blue Ocean Robotics' development by injecting new capital into the company. 3C GROUPS continues to see significant potential in Blue Ocean Robotics' robots, and the investment from 3C GROUPS ensures the continued operation and development of Blue Ocean Robotics.

“There should be no doubt that I see significant and unrealized potential in Blue Ocean Robotics' robots, which have already proven their worth in the market”, says Christian Thorborg, Investment Director at 3C GROUPS. He continues: “There is a need for robotic technologies that can address global challenges within health, the working environment and productivity, and Blue Ocean Robotics has demonstrated on several occasions that it is capable of developing precisely these kinds of solutions. But the business must also be financially sustainable, and therefore there is a need to run the company with a significantly stronger commercial mindset”.

Blue Ocean Robotics has in recent years had a strong focus on three types of service robots, all of which are on the market in several places around the world and in various stages. One is the award-winning and market-leading disinfection robot UVD, which is used for automatic disinfection in hospital departments, clinics and within the pharmaceutical industry, while the other, in an early commercial stage, is the world's first mobile lifting robot for rehabilitation and patient transfer, PTR Robots. The latest robot is GoBe Robots – a remote-controlled robot with a built-in screen that enables interaction between people who are not physically in the same place.

The transition to the new ownership structures has now been completed following an extraordinary general assembly meeting on the 25th of February and the appointment of a new board of directors. The new chairman of the board-of-directors is Mr. Søren Vilby, also currently chairman of the board of directors at the University of Southern Denmark among other board duties. The chairmanship is supplemented by Mr. Christian Thorborg as Deputy Chairman. The two other board members are Mr. Niels Thorborg, and Mr. Christian Tarp from Nordic Eye to represent their continued strong commitment to Blue Ocean Robotics. Mr. John Erland Østergaard continues to be the CEO of the group.
